![]() I'll order a large area mined out and it gets half done then they stop coming back. Workshop orders get ignored then suspended, they refuse to butcher corpses a lot and if they do butcher the animals they just leave all the meat to rot in the workshop instead of putting it in stockpiles the workshops are linked to, and orders are constantly cancelled. Basically as some point in my fortress most dwarves stop working, and just socialize more or less endlessly in the tavern or meeting space. I have this problem in pretty much every fort and I've not been able to figure it out. ![]() This can be problematic when you're trying to do something outside of the burrow but forget that you have it on, so be sure to remember when you've got an alert active. When you have a military alert active, your non-military dwarves will not accept jobs outside the burrow and they will not leave the burrow. This finishes setting the burrow up, and now you can simply open the military alerts menu, hit enter over active/training (so that the green tag changes from inactive) and your civilians will drop everything and run into the confines of the burrow. Hit enter when you've got it highlighted. Scroll down to active/training, and scroll right to highlight your burrow, which by default is named burrow 1. When you're done with that, open up the military menu with m, and hit a for alerts. Use enter to designate a burrow over your entire safe area. Hit w to open the burrows menu, then I believe it's c to create a new burrow. To set one up, you first need to make a burrow. Trap components and lavishly prepared meals are worth big bucks (try wooden spiked balls for first year trading), so it's easy to scrape up the money.Īs for your edit, there's a function specifically for that! They're called military alerts. While this may seem wasteful, happier traders will bring more wagons next year, so it's an investment for the future. It's just that they aren't happy with your trade and are flat out rejecting it rather than giving a counter-offer.Ī tip: I like to give traders x2 profit for whatever I buy.
